Description

Position Summary:

We are seeking a motivated, entry-level GTAW (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding) Welder to join our aerospace manufacturing team. This position is ideal for individuals who are new to welding or have limited experience and are eager to grow within a structured and supportive environment. You will assist in the welding, fabrication, and assembly of space tank systems and sub-assemblies while learning from experienced professionals in a clean, high-tech workspace.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Assemble components, subassemblies, and final products using hand tools, power tools, and mechanical fixtures
  • Interpret and follow detailed work instructions, blueprints, and schematics to ensure accurate builds
  • Inspect components and final assemblies for fit, function, and quality standards
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to troubleshoot issues and ensure timely completion of work orders
  • Assist with TIG welding tasks such as tacking, joining small parts, or prepping components for welding
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, including timesheets and inspection logs
  • Follow all safety and quality protocols throughout the fabrication and assembly process
  • Participate in cross-training opportunities and continuous improvement initiatives



Pay Range: $26.00 to $31.00 per hour, depending on experience.



Position Requirements

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Technical training or certification in welding (preferred but not required)
  • Basic understanding of welding techniques, preferably GTAW/TIG
  • Ability to read blueprints or technical drawings (training available)
  • Willingness to learn and follow precise instructions and procedures
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship
  • Ability to work well in a team and communicate effectively
  • Comfortable working with hand tools and shop equipment
  • Forklift or crane certification is a plus (or willingness to obtain)

Work Environment:

  • Aerospace clean room and shop environment
  • Exposure to high-precision components and tight tolerances
  • Regular lifting of up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods
