Job Description Senior Geologist Come explore with us! Terracon is seeking a Senior Geologist to join our team. The location for this position can be based out of any of the following Terracon offices: Lodi, CA - Concord, CA or Sacramento, CA General Responsibilities: The Senior Geotechnical Geologist will lead and manage complex geotechnical site investigations by evaluating subsurface soil, rock, and groundwater conditions to inform engineering design and construction recommendations. Oversee the development of geologic models, subsurface profiles, and geologic cross-sections to support analysis of foundation systems, slope stability, and seismic hazards. Direct and supervise field exploration programs including drilling, test pits, CPT, and geophysical investigations, ensuring proper soil and rock logging, sampling, and classification. Interpret geotechnical and hydrogeologic data to assess subsurface variability, groundwater behavior, and potential geologic hazards. Collaborate with geotechnical engineers to develop design parameters and construction recommendations for earthwork, shoring systems, ground improvement, and deep/shallow foundations. Prepare and review technical reports, site investigation plans, and proposals. Provide mentorship and quality assurance for junior geologists and field staff. Project work may include transportation infrastructure, commercial and industrial developments, seismic site response analysis, and environmental remediation support. The expected salary range for this position is listed below. The base range may be adjusted based on the specific location of the applicant. Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.
