Overview
**We're looking for candidates who are within a commutable distance to our locations in Nashville, TN; or Roseville, MN** The Senior Project Manager plays a pivotal role in delivering strategic technology initiatives that generate measurable business outcomes for CPI. This role leads high-impact, cross-functional projects from initiation through completion, ensuring alignment with enterprise goals and delivering tangible value across the organization.
Accountable for delivering projects on time, within scope, and on budget, the Senior Project Manager partners with executive stakeholders and all levels of the organization to translate strategic objectives into actionable plans and deliver critical business and technology outcomes.
- This position leads large-scale, enterprise-wide efforts involving complex stakeholder environments, system integrations, and organizational change management.
- Additionally, the Senior Project Manager is instrumental in advancing CPI's agile transformation by maturing hybrid delivery practices and leveraging Atlassian tools such as Jira and Confluence to foster transparency, collaboration, and delivery excellence.
Responsibilities
- Lead enterprise-wide projects or programs with high visibility and impact.
- Partner with functional leaders and executive stakeholders to define scope, objectives, and success metrics.
- Proactively anticipate and mitigate risks and dependencies to protect delivery commitments and business outcomes.
- Act as a change agent by tailoring communications to influence stakeholders across functional areas.
- Serve as a Jira and Confluence super user, configuring workflows, dashboards, and reporting to support project tracking and team collaboration.
- Provide guidance to junior project managers or business partners on project management and delivery best practices.
- Drive process improvement and project portfolio reporting for IT leadership.
- Monitor project performance and iterate based on data and stakeholder feedback.
- Champion agile best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead organizational change management strategies and define stakeholder engagement plans.
Qualifications
- Experience managing projects within software development environments, with a strong understanding of Agile practices and the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Demonstrates strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to diverse audiences-including executive leadership, technical teams, and non-technical stakeholders-to drive clarity, alignment, and informed decision-making.
- Facilitate strategic meetings, resolve cross-functional conflicts, and foster alignment to accelerate decision-making and ensure project objectives are achieved.
- Proficiency in Atlassian tools-specifically Jira and Confluence-as the primary platforms for project tracking, collaboration, and reporting. (Experience with other project management tools such as MS Project, Smartsheet, or equivalent is also valued.)
- Strategic thinking and executive stakeholder management.
- Advanced financial tracking, resource planning, and change management skills.
- Ability to influence decision-making at the leadership level.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree required in Information Technology or equivalent work experience
- 6+ years of project management experience, including at least 3 years leading large or enterprise-scale technology initiatives.
- Certifications Preferred: PMP (Project Management Professional), CAPM, or Agile/Scrum certification.
Physical Demands:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Frequent use of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and related office equipment.
- Occasional reaching, bending, or lifting of office supplies or equipment (typically under 25 pounds).
- Regular visual attention and concentration when working with digital screens.
- Ability to occasionally move throughout the office to attend meetings or retrieve equipment.
- May occasionally need to set up, connect, or troubleshoot IT hardware which could involve crouching or kneeling.
