STS Technical Services is hiring an Aircraft Shop Technician in Hollywood, Florida. This is a direct hire opportunity to work in a high-performance aviation maintenance environment specializing in wheel, brake, and landing gear components. If you're mechanically inclined, experienced with FAA repair stations, and ready to be hands-on with critical aircraft systems, this role is built for you.


Position Summary

The Aircraft Shop Technician performs inspection, repair, and overhaul tasks on components and accessories in compliance with FAA regulations and OEM procedures. This role focuses heavily on aircraft wheel and brake systems and plays a vital part in keeping aircraft assets operational and safe.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform repairs and overhauls on components and accessories per FAA and OEM-approved procedures
  • Assist with technically complex repairs, including wheel, landing gear, and brake systems
  • Use proper tools, manual references, and test equipment to ensure high-quality workmanship
  • Follow production schedules and collaborate with Leads to overcome delays
  • Complete work orders and ensure accurate documentation per FAA requirements
  • Monitor part shortages and initiate requisitions for tools and materials
  • Communicate tooling or service needs to Leads or the Production Maintenance Supervisor
  • Coordinate third-party vendor tasks and support related scheduling needs
  • Communicate effectively via email, phone, and in person as needed

Qualifications

Education:



  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • A&P License preferred (or equivalent experience/repairman certificate)

Experience:



  • 2-4 years of experience with aircraft wheel, brake, or landing gear repair and overhaul
  • FAA Repair Station or component shop experience strongly preferred

Skills & Abilities:



  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Skilled with shop tools, pneumatic and manual equipment
  • Able to interpret Component Maintenance Manuals and read blueprints
  • Familiar with hydraulic and mechanical systems
  • Experience operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and standard ground support tools
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiarity with Component Control, Lotus Notes a plus
