We are seeking a FT Banquet Setup team member who will be responsible for courteous, friendly, and efficient set up and tear down of our banquet events. The banquet setup associate makes an important contribution to the guest experience. The banquet setup is also responsible for setting up and clearing of an event.

Work Schedule: Hours scheduled will vary week to week and will be scheduled between Monday-Sunday. Flexibility on days, evenings and weekends is a must. Holidays are required, as is some overtime as needed.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE



  • 6 months banquet setup experience preferred; hotel/ restaurant experience preferred.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES





    1. Complete all work assignments and follow all instructions directed by the supervisor or shift leader.
    2. Ensure all water, amenities, audio-visual and breaks are in the room at least 15 minutes prior to the start of the meeting.
    3. Comply with all customer needs for additional equipment and supplies and convey the additional charge to the guest. Notify the supervisor to add to the guest check.
    4. Display good customer relation skills when dealing with customers.
    5. Set up and clean all meeting and meal function rooms in accordance with company and hotel specifications.
    6. Freshen all meeting rooms during meal breaks by changing cloths if necessary, refilling candy jars, replacing water glasses, refilling water pitchers and removing garbage from meeting areas and break tables.
    7. Assist with meal service and breakdown as needed.
    8. Assist in getting banquet guest checks signed and turned in to the Front Office for proper posting.
    9. Follow all energy conservation guidelines as well as safety procedures.
    10. Ensure the proper handling of all equipment and supplies.
    11. Perform other related duties as required.
    12. Report to work for scheduled shift on time and in uniform in accordance with company policy.
    13. Know and comply with all company policies and procedures pertaining to this position and its duties.
    14. Take the initiative to greet guests in a friendly and warm manner.
    15. Carry out specific oral or written instructions, frequently following a simple routine.
    16. Do the same task over and over frequently in the same way.
    17. Stand and walk for long periods of time.
    18. Lift and carry items like tables, trays of dishes and chairs.
    19. Use hands and fingers skillfully and easily.
    20. Associate attends all pre-shift meetings




SECONDARY FUNCTIONS



  1. Follow maintenance program and cleaning schedule to include back of the house and storage areas.
  2. Notify management of any pertinent related to shift activities.
  3. Assist with turning over banquet rooms from one group to another.
  4. Complete other duties as assigned by the banquet captain and/or management.


This position will require a criminal background check.
