The Assistant Manager will be the face of our bank, delivering world-class service and building lasting relationships with our valued customers. As the Assistant Manager they will be responsible for team management and developing strategies to drive consumer (non-business) sales goals, especially in the absence of the Branch Manager, who will focus more on business development and external engagements.

This leader will also play a crucial role in managing the branch's daily operations, team performance, and sales goals. More specifically, supervise the daily sales, operational and administrative activities of the branch within the framework of corporate policies and procedures to ensure quality service to our customers, satisfied and challenged employees and an efficient and profitable operating branch.

Responsibilities/Duties

    Assists in the development of new business for Firstrust. Is alert to expressed customer/prospect needs to suggest appropriate services. Actively sells and promotes bank products to potential and existing business and consumer customers. Possesses knowledge of corporate products and services to suggest products.
  • Champions all retail sales, service and Firstrust strategic initiatives including embracing and demonstrating MAGIC of customer relations strategies. Assists Branch Manager with business development.
  • Monitors and leads branch team performance as it relates to goals on a daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.
  • Leads the team by example and develops tactics to ensure the branch is meeting its sales growth and operational goals by providing consistent guidance, direction, and constructive feedback to the team through on-the-spot coaching
  • Attends Quarterly Job Family Meeting in Corporate Headquarters.
  • Demonstrates teamwork through flexibility and maintains effective communication with other departments and internal business partners to achieve Community Banking objectives and goals.
  • Plays a pivotal role in providing comprehensive feedback to the Community Banking Manager for annual performance reviews and takes a lead in ongoing performance management for each branch staff member
  • Sets a positive example in all areas of leading the branch team.
  • Ensures compliance with all Bank and branch policies, Audit and Security procedures and federal regulatory guidelines.
  • Enforce bank regulations and oversee bank security measures.
  • Monitor branch financial activities, performing audits, reports, authority limits and managing cash levels.
  • Proactively communicates policy and procedure changes to staff including review of the weekly Community Banking Operations Newsletter.
  • Uses technology and SalesForce (Customer Relationship Management system) to manage all branch leads and opportunities.
  • Ensures all branch operations, compliance and administrative functions are completed ahead of deadline.
  • Partners with all areas of the Bank to provide seamless service to our customers.
  • Continuously looks for ways to improve the overall team performance.
  • Demonstrates behaviors consistent with Firstrust Mission/Values.
  • Assists in the development of new business for Firstrust. Is alert to expressed customer/prospect needs to suggest appropriate services. Directs customers to appropriate person to establish business relationships.
  • Communicate and exchange information with all levels of management, clients, and outside vendors.
  • Other duties as assigned by Community Banking Manager.


Essential Functions

While performing the essential functions of this position, the employee may be required to ascend/descend stairs and work atop a small ladder to store and retrieve files. The employee will need to position self to lift up to 20 pounds of materials for file maintenance. The worker sits most of the time; however, some amount of mobility is necessary to accomplish tasks. The ability to communicate and exchange information verbally and written is required. The incumbent will operate a computer terminal and phone with repetitive motion, while analyzing or preparing data. Temperature changes may occur during the workday in the office setting.



Knowledge - Skills & Abilities

  • High School diploma required, college degree preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Two to three years management experience highly preferred. Banking experience preferred.
  • Must have a thorough knowledge of Bank audit policies, branch operations and procedures.
  • Proficient in using banking software and technology.
  • Extensive PC Literacy.
  • Experience with Sales Force or similar Customer Relationship Management system preferred.
  • Ability to navigate multiple software applications.
  • NMLS required.
  • Notary a plus.
  • Must be a team player and leader who can drive a branch team to exceed goals in sales and service with a positive attitude.
  • Knowledgeable of Bank products such as Mortgages, Auto Loans, Home Equity
