Onsite Operations Manager
As the Onsite Operations Manager you will be responsible for identifying, implementing and maintaining waste reduction, segregation, and reuse programs for the customer site. This role will work closely with the customer's Environmental department.

Essential Functions & Requirements:



  • Prioritizes health and safety by adhering to policies, processes, and consistently maintaining safe practices
  • Ensures compliance with Company policies, procedures and all Federal, State and Local regulations
  • Reviews production schedules to plan facility operations and establish priorities / sequences while ensuring productivity and quality
  • Establishes operating goals and resolves operational and maintenance problems to ensure minimal costs and prevent operational delays
  • Develops and/or revises standard operational and working procedures
  • Utilizes chemistry and waste treatment knowledge to troubleshoot treatment processes
  • Establishes production metrics and monitoring reports to track goal progress for the business line
  • Prepares and audits mandatory functional reporting as needed
  • Assists in developing the operational yearly budget and conformance to the budget by various departments; monitors the cost of operations to ensure proper pricing and profitability
  • Determines waste disposal options (acceptability and pricing) in partnership with Corporate Approvals; addresses physical and analytical issues around non-conforming waste materials received
  • Reviews and manages departmental expenses including P&L, disposal billing, time sheet approvals, etc.
  • Continuously monitors facility operations and programs for adherence and efficiency improvements
  • Leads the responses to emergency situations, including timely notification of reportable incidents, response actions, and removal of residues and replacement of supplies
  • Assists in incident and near-miss investigations, identifying root and contributing causes, and coordinates corrective measures and follow up actions
  • Assists with and/or leads regulatory environmental audits on behalf of the customer (IDEM, ISO, etc.)
  • Completes KPIs on time and submits safety observations to the customer on a monthly basis
  • Enforces RCRA, DOT, and OSHA regulations on behalf of the customer
  • Maintains good customer relations, ensuring good communication with all parties on-site
  • Interviews, hires, trains, mentors and evaluates performance for employees in accordance with Corporate Human Resources programs / guidelines
  • Takes on additional duties as assigned to support the team and organization


Education:



  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or science-related field (required)
  • Indiana Wastewater Operator License, Class C, D, III or IV (preferred)

    • Candidates without existing Wastewater Operator Licenses must be willing to obtain a license post-hire (required)




Experience:



  • 3+ years of related plant operations experience, specifically within a hazardous waste / chemical treatment related role (required)
  • In lieu of degree, 7+ years of related plant operations experience, specifically within a hazardous waste / chemical treatment related role (required)
  • Foundational P&L knowledge and experience (required)
  • Strong knowledge of chemical principles and mechanical functionality as it relates to plant operations (required)


Competencies:



  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of all Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations pertaining to the environmental services industry
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills; ability to lead and motivate team members
  • Strong computer skills, including the use of Microsoft Office Suite applications
  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including a respirator
  • Regular and predictable attendance to perform the functions and requirements of this role
