Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Career Advocate to join our team in Racine, United States. In this role, you will provide crucial support and guidance to individuals navigating their career paths within our TJ programs. As a Career Advocate, you will empower clients to achieve their professional goals through personalized counseling and strategic career planning.

  • Conduct one-on-one career counseling sessions with clients, assessing their skills, interests, and goals
  • Develop and implement individualized career action plans for clients in the TJprograms
  • Assist clients with job search strategies, resume writing, and interview preparation
  • Facilitate workshops and seminars on various career development topics
  • Collaborate with local employers and community organizations to identify job opportunities for clients
  • Maintain accurate records of client interactions, progress, and outcomes
  • Stay current with job market trends, employment practices, and career development resources
  • Advocate for clients' needs and provide support throughout their career journey
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the TJprograms
Qualifications
  • Preferred bachelor's degree in counseling, psychology, human resources, or a related field
  • Proven experience in career counseling or a similar role
  • Strong knowledge of job search strategies, resume writing, and interview techniques
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to motivate and inspire clients to achieve their career goals
  • Proficiency in time management and problem-solving
  • Familiarity with local job market trends and employment practices
  • Understanding of TJ programs and their specific requirements
  • Career counseling certification preferred
  • Demonstrated empathy and ability to build rapport with diverse client populations
  • Proficiency in using career assessment tools and job search platforms
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
