GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Ambulatory Pharmacy Procurement & Inventory Supervisor's key responsibilities include supporting leaders and all pharmaceutical purchasing staff on inventory, drug shortages, formulary, and 340B program optimization by independently planning and executing supply chain/pharmacy procurement project timelines, with minimal oversight, and acting as a resource for pharmaceutical procurement operations within the organization. Will be responsible for leading the Procurement & Inventory team in maintaining, reporting, upgrading, and optimizing all ambulatory and specialty pharmacy purchases. Will also lead the development and production of Ambulatory pharmacy custom and ad hoc reporting needs. Will manage contracts carefully, develop effective inventory management, and use technology and analytics to make operations run with lean standards. Will also have an effective pricing system in place and improve order accuracy and order cycle times to lower costs for the health system and will work as part of the 340B and third-party teams to ensure complete optimization of all three areas.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Lead the development and production of Ambulatory Pharmacy Services custom and ad hoc reporting needs including PCP/Specialty Profile Reports, Product Line Analysis, Pharmacy Utilization, Employer Group, Financial, and Membership Retention.
  • Participate in the design, development, coding, and maintenance of reporting applications integrated with existing and new data sources. (Clinical Website, McKesson Enterprise Rx, Epic)
  • Works directly with manufacturers, as well as through GPO and peer professional relationships, to determine companies that are contracting with outpatient pharmacies to offer 340B or equivalent pricing and develops strategies to maximize such participation.
  • Works with outpatient pharmacy management and pharmacy informatics teams to ensure that the organization's clinical information system is coordinated and integrated into the work with the 340B program. This shall include the electronic
    interfaces between the EMR and the virtual accumulator and any interfaces between the organization and contract pharmacy providers and/or administrators. Ensures split-billing software integrity and reviews applicable reports for areas of improvement.
  • Tracks identified and implemented cost savings and audits projected utilization and actual spend
  • Assist in developing policies and procedures to meet the objectives of Ambulatory pharmacy enterprise
  • Provide ongoing training and support to pharmacy procurement staff and participate in interviewing, orientation, and development of training programs.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:



  • Bachelor's degree preferred OR a minimum of five plus (5+) years of relevant pharmacy procurement and/or supply chain experience required.
  • Five (5) years of experience in Healthcare and/or Pharmacy domain required.
  • Five (5) years of professional data analysis experience required.
  • Experience working with large amounts of Healthcare Payer/Payor data in new and evolving environments required.
  • Three (3) years of experience in overseeing pharmacy supply chain and 340B needs preferred.
  • Three (3) years of experience with application reporting tools preferred.
  • Excellent quantitative, analytical, written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
