Pre-sales, Solution Architect - Manager, Managed Services

We are seeking a client-facing Pre-Sales Solutions Architect to collaborate with various stakeholders in developing an integrated solutions for our clients. As a Pre-sales Solutions Architect at RSM, you will play a pivotal role in driving the firm's growth strategy by delivering innovative solutions across the Tax, Assurance, and Consulting space. You will collaborate closely with our clients, internal teams, and technology partners to design, develop, and implement robust processes and Technology solutions that address complex business challenges.

The Pre-sales Solutions Architectdevelop tailored product and service solutions that aligns client's needs in optimizing cost, systems, data, and processes. This role involves analyzing the client's current landscape, identifying key priorities, and designing solutions that drive efficiency and integration.

The team is involved with the sales cycle at the time of inception and involved in the development of solution components. They are expected to work with a broad range of services and technology offerings that RSM offers to its clients and own the product solutions blueprint to handoff to service delivery.

Collaborate with business analysts, developers, and project managers to ensure that solutions are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

The Lead Solutions Architect collaborates with different teams, which will include all other functions of the Architecture team to determine which technologies to use, which processes need to be developed, the services to be delivered, the resources required and then provide the Commercial team with these inputs.

Responsibilities:

  • Engage with internal stakeholders to identify and qualify managed services opportunities, focusing on finance processes, IT infrastructure, digital solutions, management Consulting.
  • Develop and execute strategies to drive lead conversion, ensuring alignment with client needs.
  • Take ownership of the opportunity pipeline, demonstrating self-motivation and accountability in driving results.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, emerging technologies, and client challenges to design tailored solutions.
  • Leverage best practices across industries to design and implement effective transition strategies.
  • Ensure seamless migration of processes from various locations to managed services while minimizing operational disruptions.
  • Apply expertise in outsourcing models, including offshore deployments, to optimize cost and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with service line SMEs to develop industry-specific collaterals and response models for accelerated client engagement.
  • Respond to RFPs/RFIs with comprehensive solutions that highlight the organization's capabilities in delivering value-driven managed services.
  • Prepare compelling proposals and assist the sales team in client presentations.
  • Work closely with the commercial pursuit team to provide input into pricing models, ensuring competitive and profitable solutions.
  • Collaborate with bid governance, operational leadership, and industry partners to build scalable, high-value solutions aligned with client objectives.
  • Identify, document, and communicate solution risks, including dependencies on external agencies during transitions.
  • Work with the services architect to validate solution feasibility before finalizing pricing and client engagement.
  • Evaluate and recommend technologies that enhance service offerings, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Research, evaluate, and provide recommendations on build-or-buy options to maximize value.
  • Create, maintain, and communicate solution architecture documentation for leadership buy-in and approval.
  • Collaborate with other solution architects to develop reusable solution patterns applicable across multiple products and platforms.
  • Collect and analyze benchmarking data to ensure process efficiency and alignment with best practices.
  • Participate in strategic planning and operational reviews, providing insights that drive business growth.
  • Support innovation efforts by identifying technology and solution roadmaps that enhance service capabilities.
  • Design and implement structured transition roadmaps to ensure seamless migration of processes to a managed services model, minimizing disruption and maintaining operational continuity.
  • Define clear ownership, accountability, and governance structures for transition execution, ensuring alignment with compliance, risk management, and client expectations.
  • Leverage best practices in workforce planning, automation, and offshore deployment strategies to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness during transitions.
  • Identify potential risks related to knowledge transfer, operational handoffs, and external dependencies, implementing proactive measures to ensure smooth execution.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
  • 8+ years of experience in Process and Technology solutions architecture.
  • 10+ years of solution development and client engagement experience.
  • Experience in building solutions in the finance domain and technology sales is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of managed services related to finance processes, IT infrastructure, digital solutions, Cyber Security across various industries and PE channels.
  • Familiarity with enterprise architecture frameworks and best practices.
    • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, drive process improvements, and manage complex solution development initiatives.
    • Experience in Public Accounting industry or a part of large managed services organization.
    • Prior experience in a similar role for implementing solutions for global managed services clients leveraging multiple technologies and platforms as required.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and adapt to innovative technologies required.

TECHNICAL/ SOFT SKILLS

  • Excellent communication skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with clients, leadership and project team members required.
  • Working knowledge of hardware, software, RPA tools and methodologies required
  • Knowledge and understanding of SDLC, Software Architecture patterns and API programming required.
  • Working knowledge of software development tools and methodologies required
  • Must be an initiative-taker and have the analytical skills required for the job.
  • Must be a confident leader in influencing the solution strategy with Clients.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members

The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, education, skills, work experience, certifications, location, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.

Compensation Range: $103,300 - $207,400
