Job Description

The Manufacturing Quality Technician is responsible for supporting quality assurance processes in the manufacturing environment to ensure DDN products meet defined specifications and customer requirements. This role focuses on daily quality control activities, inspection, process compliance, and documentation of production output. The technician will play an active role in detecting, containing, and preventing defects, while supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the operation.

Key Responsibilities:

    Perform in-process and final inspection of assemblies, components, and systems to ensure conformance with specifications, drawings, and quality standards.
  • Execute inspection activities including mechanical, visual, and measurement-based assessments using appropriate tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.).
  • Verify compliance of manufacturing processes, work instructions, and quality plans.
  • Support failure analysis and root cause investigations for non-conforming material.
  • Assist with internal audits and support corrective and preventive action activities (CAPA).
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of inspection results and quality data collection.
  • Work cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to resolve quality issues.
  • Escalate any discrepancies or non-conformances identified during inspection promptly to Quality and Production leadership.
  • Participate in training and continuous improvement projects to advance quality objectives.
  • Support incoming inspection activities as required to ensure supplier quality compliance.
  • Maintain organized, clean, and safe work areas in compliance with company safety policies.
  • Other duties as assigned by Quality leadership.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or associate degree in Quality, Manufacturing Technology, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in manufacturing quality inspection or similar role.
  • Strong understanding of inspection techniques, measurement tools, and mechanical drawings.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015 standards and quality system fundamentals.
  • Experience with defect tracking, quality reporting, and use of ERP systems.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Knowledge of ESD controls, IPC standards, or similar certifications is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, sit, and move about the manufacturing floor for extended periods.
  • Manual dexterity required for operating inspection tools and handling small components.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally.

Pay Range: $23.00 - $27.00 an hour
