The Senior Medical Economics Analyst for the Payer business unit is responsible for gathering, analyzing and interpreting data related to healthcare costs and utilization. This role will support the design and development of insights that drive value-based care initiatives and financial performance improvement while working alongside key business unit leadership and corporate finance functions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in healthcare data analysis and financial modeling with the ability to effectively communicate with key executive stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain financial reporting packages that contain ongoing financial and operational forecast data to provide leadership insights into risk, opportunities, and utilization trends and variances.
  • Support revenue and cash forecasting for the business, including communication and collaboration with leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • Plan and conduct financial analysis to support the operations of the business by evaluating the financial impact of business initiatives and changes in market conditions.
  • Analyze healthcare costs and trends, especially for at-risk populations and different types of payment models (e.g., capitation, FFS contracts).
  • Support the preparation of reserve forecasts and financial performance reviews.
  • Draw actionable conclusions based on analyses performed and make recommendations through the use of healthcare analytics and predictive modeling. Communicate those conclusions effectively to audiences at various levels of the organization.
  • Work with Analytics and Clinical Operation teams to validate data, enhance medical cost reports and tools, and help design new reporting for enterprise consumption.
  • Perform other job duties as needed.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • At least 4-6 years of relevant work experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced MS Excel skills (index, pivot tables, lookups, macros)

Job Expectations:

  • Willing to work additional or irregular hours as needed
  • Must work in accordance with applicable security policies and procedures to safeguard company and client information
  • Must be able to sit and view a computer screen for extended periods of time
