Network Engineer

BlueHalo is seeking an Experienced Network Engineer to provide critical contributions within a high priority program. As an Experience Network Engineer on the team, you will perform network services including implementation, maintenance, and upgrading of existing networks. You'd like to do this:

• Support of virtual learning network infrastructure sufficient to meet special requirements for each course.
• Support of classroom network infrastructure sufficient to meet special requirements for each classroom course.
• Troubleshooting of network issues and recommendations of network modifications to optimize performance while adhering to all relevant security policies.
• Implementing STIG guidance, hardening and maintaining network systems.

You're required to have this:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Eight (8) years progressively responsible network systems engineering experience. Four (4) years of experience can be substituted for a degree for a total of twelve (12) years of experience.
• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification.
• Experience with packet capture and network analysis tools.
• Experience with monitoring solutions and datacenter operations.
• Experience with networking technologies such as routers, switches, encryption, and firewalls.
• Experience with TCP/IP networking, networking architecture, computer and operation systems.
• Experience with CISCO hardware and operating systems.
• A working knowledge of Linux, Windows, and Windows servers.

Nice to haves:

• Experience with network security principles, threats, and vulnerabilities.
• Experience with Palo Alto hardware and operating systems.
• Experience with VMWare, VSphere, and VCenter virtualization tools.
• Understanding of Software Defined Networking & Micro-segmentation.
• Understanding of VXLAN and logical networking concepts.
• Experience with Atlassian Tools (Confluence, Jira, Bitbucket, etc.).
• Knowledge of coding languages for scripting (e.g. Python, Perl).
• Ability to work flex and/or overtime hours, with some weekends expected.
• Ability to solve problems quickly and completely; analytical problem-solving skills; adept at root-cause analysis and mitigation.
• Effective communication, writing, documentation, and requirements gathering skills.
• Possess drive, enthusiasm, and attention to detail.

Salary Range: $100k - $170k
