Position Summary:

Direct Supply is building the future of healthcare technology with industry-leading products, solutions and platforms to help improve the lives of millions of seniors and those who care for them.

In the Manager, AI Operations position, you'll serve as the operational backbone for a fast-moving and innovative Applied AI team. You'll coordinate people operations, optimize departmental workflows & communication, and partner across the organization to drive strategic delivery of AI solutions. This role supports the administrative and operational needs of technical talent, enabling engineers to focus on innovation while ensuring clear expectations & minimal roadblocks. You will report to the Director, AI and collaborate closely with technical leads to support the engineering team's performance and growth.

  • Demonstrated experience with scalable operations and process design to enable fast-paced growth.

  • Technical understanding of AI/ML concepts sufficient to effectively support advanced technology teams and help align them with business outcomes.

What You'll Do and Impact:

  • Coordinate people operations, including intern programs, rotation planning, department events, immigration sponsorship, and cross-functional initiatives.

  • Support Dev Leads in administrative aspects of career development, performance management, and goal setting for technical team members.

  • Establish and scale operational processes, tools, and frameworks to enable team growth and efficient delivery.

  • Partner with Dev Leads on resource allocation strategies to support high-performing teams of technologists.

  • Partner with stakeholders across Direct Supply to ensure seamless delivery of Applied AI projects and alignment with organizational goals.

  • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

  • Advocate for team-specific policy adaptations to support evolving needs of AI development.

  • Ensure operational compliance with legal, security, and corporate standards.

Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in technical team operations, people leadership, or program management.

  • Prior experience in AI/ML or advanced technology environments.

  • Experience with tools and systems for technical project tracking, performance management, and team collaboration (e.g. Jira, Gitlab/Github).

  • Experience applying frontier AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, etc) for personal productivity.

  • Sufficient technical understanding to meaningfully engage with AI engineers' work.

Additional Items of Interest:

  • Familiarity with compliance and security requirements related to software teams.

  • Experience with in scripting, automation, and reporting.

  • Ability to contribute extra capacity directly to software product teams (as product owner or developer).

  • Familiarity with healthcare operations, regulations, or senior care environments.

  • Understanding of HIPAA or other relevant compliance frameworks.
