Engineer Intern

The Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL) is seeking to hire a student-level Engineering Intern to contribute in cutting edge research and developing new technologies for a Department of Defense (DoD) customer. This position allows a student to gain valuable real world engineering experience.

This position has the potential of continued employment or transition to student/full-time employment requiring security clearance eligibility.


Responsibilities:

The student hired for this role will be responsible for supporting our engineering staff in the Mission Systems Branch. Work tasks will be assigned based on current program needs but will likely include writing code, cloud administration, working with drones, and assisting engineers with their daily tasks.

Interns will be paid a competitive hourly wage and will be tasked with varying duties based on current projects, needed support, and development phase.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must be able to obtain a DoD security clearance
  • Must be a high school graduate pursuing a degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
  • Familiarity with one of the following programming or scripting languages: PowerShell, C#, Java, Python
  • Ability to work effectively, both independently and as a team member
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing
  • Self-motivated, dependable, and detail oriented
