The Associated Press seeks an experienced news producer with a proven record of successful work in broadcast and digital video production to work on our global output of daily video stories, to be based in Los Angeles, Seattle, Phoenix or any city with an AP bureau, working primarily afternoon/evening shifts. This is a dynamic role in a fast-paced newsroom that includes sub-editing breaking news and spot stories, as well as features and investigations. This is a temporary staff position covered by AP's agreement with the News Media Guild and ending December 31, 2025. Responsibilities: Reporting to the Assistant Director for Global Video Production, this producer will be responsible for ensuring video edits and storylines meet AP's journalistic standards for accuracy, speed, balance and fact-based, objective reporting. As a sub-editor, you will review video edits and scripts and help craft sharp headlines and punchy leads. You also will offer guidance and support to producers on editorial and technical standards, including best practices in storyline writing and video editing structure that meets the demands of broadcast and digital newsrooms. You must deliver visually engaging and accurate journalism with speed and attention to detail. In this role, you will work closely with the video production team and collaborate with global AP staff across formats to deliver journalism that serves our customers and helps grow AP's audience. Applicants must have the ability and willingness to work at night and on weekends, as coverage demands, as AP is a 24/7 operation.

This position is covered by The Associated Press' contract with the News Media Guild, which provides for an annual salary for Class A staff of between $52,046 and $82,934 based on location and years of professional experience.
