Duro-Last Roofing is the world's largest manufacturer of prefabricated roofing systems. We have an opening for a R&D Analyst at our Saginaw, Michigan location. This is an 8am-5pm position that offers a great working environment, excellent benefits and opportunities for advancement.

R&D Analyst Position Responsibilities:

  • Provide direction and technical support to the manufacturing and assembly operations
  • Designs new products with a focus on PVC based products
  • Supports R&D projects, new product development, testing, advanced weathering as well as other 3rd party testing and certification
  • Define and analyze key process input/output variables, and recommend action plans based on quality, analytical or lab scale data
  • Work hands on to develop prototypes and engage in scaling up processes for production
  • Promotes continuous improvement through Six Sigma and other applicable tools and methodologies
  • Collaborates cross-functionally with multiple departments to align and achieve goals
  • Other duties as assigned

R&D Analyst Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Plastics, Chemical, Mechanical etc.) or related field
  • 1-3 years of experience in R&D or in a manufacturing environment preferably in plastics, using standardized test methods
  • Experience in statistical analysis using Minitab and quality improvement tools including Control Charts, SPC, Process Capability and DOE's
  • Experience using an Instron and familiarity with ASTM Standards
  • Familiarity with physical property testing of plastic materials
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and make data supported decisions
  • Technical writing, computer skills, familiarity with Microsoft Office products, math/statistical skills, analytical aptitude and mechanical ability are critical to this position
  • Must have outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated and proactive with ability to take initiative and drive tasks to completion independently
  • Able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize effectively with quality results
