The Sr Manager developsand deployscategory strategy for a consumer-based portfolio of categories. In this role, you will serve as a performance coach and strong change leader to drive adoption of the strategic direction for the division.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Marketing and Sales team on category strategy and division initiatives to include innovation pipeline development that will drive category growth.
  • Responsible for the development, maintenance and deployment of rolling 3-year category strategy roadmap, by channel, to support division's Market Business Strategy (MBS).
  • Review trends, marketplace assessments, category, consumer and shopper analysis reviews and stakeholder interviews to produce a situation assessment with key learnings, implications, and recommendations.
  • Leverage Shopper Insights & Trends
  • Collect Retailer Feedback on Category Story with input from ADs / CAMs
  • Actas Integrated Commercial Planning process champion

Category Strategy:

  • Develop the Category Strategy & Roadmap (by channel) based on internal and external analysis, feedback from customer partners, and the annual integration commercial planning process
  • Develop 4Ps strategic direction based on category strategy, best practices from customers/account teams and quantitative feedback.
  • Provide strategic direction into the overall commercial plan using the planning processes: ICP Gate 1 (Division MBS), ICP Gate 2 (Category Strategies and Tactics)
  • Develop Training & Deployment Plan of Roadmap
  • Advise on Customer category strategies through JBP and a Category First approach.

Customer Strategy:

  • Achieve HPT within the assigned commercial spend budgets
  • Lead development of key selling strategies
  • Develop and foster collaborative relationships with customer teams
  • Support development of Core and Develop customers
  • Gather input from Core and Develop customers on effectiveness of AOPs, Roadmaps and strategic direction.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years' experience Sales, Sales Planning, Marketing, Category Management and/or CPG.
  • Working knowledge of Channel of trade and Customer base
  • Strong oral and written communication and negotiation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate and develop people
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize technology to drive business results
  • Knowledge of interrelationship of key functions and their key initiatives (Sales, Marketing, Finance, HR, Supply Chain, Technical and Globe & IS/IT)
  • Knowledge of MBS and Integrated Commercial Planning process
  • Knowledge of Customer Best Practice, Market Intelligence, Category/Channel/ Shopper trends and shopper Insight into actionable ideas
  • Demonstrated knowledge of business driving technology solutions (i.e. Circana, BW, Source) and internal/external industry insights and trends
  • Knowledge of core Business Processes and Fundamentals (Sales/Distribution, Customer Planning and Managing, Financial Reporting, Training, HR Policies, Integrated Commercial Planning, Management and Leadership Principles)

The approximate target compensation range for this role is $165K to 195K . Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location of the position.
