LOCATION OF (1) POSITION(S) TO BE FILLED: DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN RESOURCES, HR MANAGEMENT SERVICES DIVISION, DAVIDSON COUNTY Qualifications Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree and two years of professional compensation experience. Substitution of experience for education: Experience in Human Resources can substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis, to a maximum of four years. Overview A Senior Compensation Consultant is employed by the Department of Human Resources (DOHR) and provides market research, equity analysis, and job architecture development to assist agencies in compensation planning. This is the senior level classification in the Compensation Consultant series and is responsible for overseeing enterprise-wide compensation projects, leading participation in salary surveys, and providing training to Compensation Consultants. This class differs from that of Compensation Team Lead in that an incumbent of the latter functions at the supervisory level. This class differs from that of a Compensation Consultant in that an incumbent of the latter performs at the working level. Responsibilities 1. Manages compensation projects such as designing and implementing new compensation programs and process improvement initiatives. Facilitates meetings with stakeholders to identify needs and project scope. 2. Partners with agencies in the development and implementation of long-term compensation planning. Consults with business partners to design tailored compensation strategies aligned with an agency's compensation objectives. 3. Leads participation in salary surveys and conducts research and analysis on market competitiveness, pay equity, and compensation trends using industry compensation tools. Benchmarks new and existing roles against survey data to determine competitive compensation. 4. Provides senior-level expertise and guidance on best compensation practices. 5. Onboards, trains, and advises Compensation Consultants on established processes. 6. Evaluates and approves employee salary adjustments, position actions, and other compensation actions submitted to ensure alignment with the State's compensation philosophy. Analyzes data to determine appropriate pay structure, salary grade, and FLSA status for job classifications. 7. Supports and provides resources for agency job analyses. Consults with agencies to determine responsibilities, qualifications, and competencies for job classifications. 8. Reviews DOHR policies and procedures and makes recommendations for improvements that will positively impact operational efficiency and quality of service. Competencies (KSA's) Competencies:
