Your role with us The Referral Specialist in the Infusion Center coordinates patient care by managing referrals, verifying insurance and clinical information, and ensuring proper documentation and scheduling through Epic. They collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to support accurate order processing, patient registration, and billing, while contributing to process improvements and maintaining efficient workflow. What you'll do Triage and direct incoming patient referrals (via fax or Epic), ensuring accuracy in orders, demographics, coding, and documentation. Verify insurance benefits and submit prior authorization requests per payer guidelines, ensuring all approvals are documented accurately in Epic. Collaborate with charge nurses, oncology clinics, and leadership to schedule treatments and ensure referral accuracy and availability. Track and correct registration errors and ensure timely completion of work queue assignments. Handle patient calls professionally, gather accurate demographic and financial data, and communicate billing or insurance concerns effectively. Provide backup scheduling, registration, and check-in support as needed, including resolving medical record or billing issues. Upload documents into Epic, assist with quality improvement projects, and participate in Kaizen and standardization efforts.
