Amplify is seeking a dedicated Software Development Program Manager to oversee and coordinate a diverse portfolio of software development projects within the Business Systems team. The ideal candidate will provide direction and support to the project managers and project teams under their purview. This role collaborates closely with leadership, product stakeholders, and development teams to implement and enhance our software and technology solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops and oversees the program management structure of all projects related to the program, including defining the program's overall goals, objectives, and key performance indicators, and ensures all projects align with the broader organizational goals.

  • Identifies, engages, and manages stakeholders and senior leaders to align program objectives with business goals and expected benefits/outcomes.

  • Allocates resources across the projects within the program and coordinates with project managers to ensure any resourcing gaps are met throughout the duration of the projects

  • Prepares and communicates program metrics, reports, and dashboards to senior leadership, stakeholders, and the project teams to ensure that each audience is informed of changes, progress, issues, risks and next steps

  • Oversees the development and maintenance of detailed software development project plans, timelines, status reports, risk registers, and role and responsibility registers aligned with each project's complexity.

  • Ensures that program deliverables are met based on the agreed-upon timeline and that they meet established quality standards

  • Supervises cross-functional software development teams, providing positive leadership focused on timely delivery, project scope, budgetary considerations, quality, and communication.

  • Oversee the program budget, ensuring financial resources are used effectively and making adjustments as necessary to stay within budget constraints.

  • Foster a collaborative environment, encouraging active communication and transparency across all functional areas.

  • Conducts program risk assessments regularly, highlighting inter-project risks, and ensures proper risk mitigation strategies are in place.

  • Ensures effective change management activities across the program are in place to ensure pending changes align with strategic goals and are implemented smoothly across all projects.

  • Acts as a single point of contact for all escalations and change management for the program.

  • Mentor and develop project managers and team members, enhancing their skills and knowledge.

  • Develop and maintain program documentation, including program plans, schedules, budgets, and risk registers.

Basic Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience overseeing multiple projects within a program, handling complex software development project portfolios, and leading project teams.

  • 10+ years of experience managing multiple projects of varying complexity

  • 3+ years experience working with enterprise-level software applications (e.g., NetSuite, Salesforce, SAP, Workday, MS Dynamics, etc.).

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Business, or similar and/or relevant experience

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification

  • Strong understanding of the software development life cycle and experience with agile, waterfall, and hybrid methodologies.

  • Able to manage budgets and resources effectively at a project portfolio level

  • Experience creating various reports and dashboards for multiple audience types to show the progress of the program

  • Extensive experience resolving conflicts between project team members and members of leadership

  • Exceptional communication and planning skills

  • Experience working with Jira, Smartsheets, and Google Suite

  • Experience managing 3rd party implementation partners in both an onshore and offshore model.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Lucid, and Miro

  • Program Management Professional (PgMP) certification

  • Experience working within the field of education, specifically the K-12 industry.

What we offer:

Salary is only one component of the Amplify Total Rewards package, which includes a 401(k) plan, competitive health insurance and mental health options, basic life insurance, paid time off, parental leave, and access to best-in-class development programs. The gross salary range for this role is $115,000 - $130,000. This role is eligible to earn an annual discretionary bonus that rewards individual and company performance.
