About the role

Oversees the SOPS, QA/QC, of Business Unit Laboratory.Accountable for the obtainment of efficiency, economy, alignment, compliance, and future development of Laboratory systems.

Position Responsibilities

  • Set clear expectations, lead, coordinate, and direct Lab Technicians (and WWT Technicians) on all Central Laboratory initiatives.

  • Conduct quarterly audits of all CWT laboratories to ensure technician activities are being performed in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. *Key 'Dog Collar' concepts are featured on the tail of this document.

  • Design and lead laboratory projects that result in improved cost, quality, efficiency, or other general process improvements. Devise and internally publicize 'Alternative Treatment Matrix '. i.e. Lowering T5 costs, Ultra Filtration, Electrocoagulation, Pre pit material blending.

  • Facilitate information gathering, and formal letter drafting for resolving deficiencies and proactively communicating future compliance with municipal, state, and federal officials.

  • Research and recommend outlets for any and all beneficial re-useable materials as a result of our water treatment practices.

  • Trains Laboratory Technicians to a personal/industry standard of competency examination. Designs coursework that follows NLAP (National Laboratory Accreditation Program) methods. The company accepts it as a cost-prohibitive, yet long-range goal to obtain NLAP accreditation.

  • Acts as a co-validation representative for all Compliance and Permit Manager' applications/renewals.

  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Accredited Bachelor Degree in Chemistry or related field

  • Must be willing to learn and become proficient in Oil and Batch Treatment processes

  • Strong communication skills and ability to follow detailed instructions.

  • Must be a self-starter, apply initiative, and effectively troubleshoot when necessary.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ten (10) years of industry-related experience preferred

Physical Demands of the Role

  • Ability to walk, stand, sit, and climb

  • Ability to lift/carry 50lbs

  • Qualify to wear a full-face respirator
