Our First-year Explorer Program is designed to provide hard-working and motivated first-years with exposure to the corporate world, gain valuable skills, and learn more about Cognizant!

Program Overview:

As a participant in the Cognizant First-year Explorer Program, you will be a vital part of our dynamic team. This program is specifically tailored for first-year students who are eager to learn and ready to kick off their professional career. You will have the chance to network, establish relationships and develop skills that will set the foundation for your future career.

Event Agenda:
  • Explore Cognizant Affinity Groups and how our associates benefit from these employee resource groups.
  • Learn professional networking skills through workshops where you will practice good communication, etiquette, presenting yourself professionally, and interacting personably.
  • Participate in resume writing and cover letter reviews with members of our campus recruitment team.
  • Create a strong personal brand that has the power to build your reputation and help successfully drive your career.
Qualifications:
  • Current first-year status at an accredited college or university.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to a corporate environment.
  • Proven leadership skills.
Eligibility:
  • To apply, students must be in the first year of a two-year community college or a four-year BA/BS program, in business or STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) at an accredited university or college in the United States for the 2024-2025 academic year.
  • Students from all schools and students who identify with a group that is historically underrepresented in the technology industry, including but not limited to Black, Hispanic/Latinx, Indigenous, students with disabilities, women and veterans are encouraged to apply.
  • Permanent US work authorization is required.
