Manager - Account Management Overview The Manager - Account Management leads and oversees a team within the Account Management department, providing guidance, direction and support in managing relationships and delivering high quality service to equity Partners, non-equity Partners and/or agencies. They will contributes to the development and implementation of strategic initiatives to enhance customer satisfaction, retention, and upsell opportunities. Collaboration with senior leadership will be essential to establishing departmental goals and objectives, and ensuring alignment with the company strategy. Essential Duties
- Leads account managers and client relationship managers in developing and executing proactive, creative, and ongoing contact initiatives intended to drive customer satisfaction, retention and growth.
- Builds and maintains strong relationships with partners, agencies, brokers, groups and internal stakeholders to elevate overall customer experience and sales opportunities.
- Supports account managers with identifying and pursuing new business opportunities and up-selling opportunities within existing accounts
- Obtains market feedback on product, technology and service to provide continuous feedback for organizational improvement.
- Manages complex customer escalations and makes critical decisions related to service quality and issue resolution to ensure excellence in service. Interacts with partner service and sales representatives, brokers and employers to issue resolution, develop relationships and answer questions.
- Drives process improvements, analyzes performance metrics. Gathers, analyzes, and interprets quantitative and qualitative information; chooses the best course of action by establishing clear decision criteria, generating, and evaluating alternatives, and understanding probable consequences.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Broad knowledge of the insurance industry, company insurance products, and best practices in account management.
- Exceptional leadership, team management, and coaching skills.
- Strategic thinking and the ability to develop and execute departmental strategies that align with company goals.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and nurture relationships at all levels.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; Project management expertise.
- Demonstrated ability to drive customer satisfaction, retention, and growth through effective account management strategies.
- Ability to travel 25% of the time to support relationship building with key accounts
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in business, marketing, communications or related field, or equivalent related experience
- 3-5 years of experience in sales and/or service & account management including experience leading programs, projects and/or relationships; or 2 or more years supervisory and/or team lead experience
- Or equivalent military experience
- Active Insurance Producer license in Health & Life (must be obtained within 60 days of employment and is a condition of employment)
Preferred Education and Experience
- Master's degree in related field
- 1-2 years experience management/leadership experience
- Account management experience in an insurance environment
- Experience with company/industry systems
