The Campus Services Information Systems Department at Georgia State University is seeking to hire a Physical Security Systems Manager.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

Under the general direction of the Assistant Director, contribute to the safety and security of the campus, university property, faculty, staff, students and members of the community who enter the campus by overseeing campus access control operations. This includes the supervision of access control technicians and associated outside contractors, management of the access control systems and processes, coordination with campus constituents to provide expertise, the oversight of access control installations in renovation and new construction projects and the management of department inventory of system hardware.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:



  • Oversee and support Access Control Technicians with the implementation of approved physical security system hardware, which may include access control, intrusion detection devices and other related systems.
  • Coordinate as needed on-site, campus-wide with internal and external partners for physical security system installation projects.
  • Configure security systems for new and updated access control locations.
  • Liaison with campus customers both internal and external via email or phone to provide updates as needed on projects/repairs.
  • Attend meetings to consult on access control projects.
  • Document access control system design, locations and interfaces.
  • Conduct user training.

Qualifications :

Minimum Requirements:



  • Bachelor's degree and four years of related experience, or a combination of education and related experience.


Preferred Requirements:



  • Experience with Transact, CBORD, S2, Lenel or other security systems.
  • Working knowledge of locking devices, exit devices, door hardware, card readers, turnstiles, biometric readers, panic hardware and related devices.


Additional Preferred Requirements:



  • Ability to repair, install and service access control hardware.
  • Experience supervising access control technicians.
  • Experience managing contractors in the installation, maintenance and repair of electronic access control components.
