The Sr Manager Solutions Architecture role will lead the creation and management of a new team of subject matter experts enabling our Global Product Development organization with enhanced capabilities and technologies that create superior value for the company, its employees, and its customers. This role will drive the identification, exploration, and prioritization of next-generation capabilities and technologies that empower our engineering teams - those who design the innovative products we bring to market. You will provide critical expertise in business analysis, solutions & cloud architecture, demand teams, oversee Proof of Concept (PoC) and Proof of Value (PoV) initiatives, and enable scalable solutions that align with our Global Product Development (GPD) vision. This role will be primarily focused on our Global Product Development organization and will report to the VP, Digital Technology, within Global Product Development. The Sr Manager Solutions Architecture will be a part of the Global Product Development Digital Capabilities team. This team helps enable & deliver the Global PD strategic portfolio, Digital Product Development strategy, ALM/PLM and related Engineering Technologies, Business Readiness, and Business Architecture. Our team is part of the broader Global Product Development organization, which represents Molex engineering and product lifecycle management capabilities at large.

What You Will Do

Team Leadership & Strategy

  • Build and lead a high-performing team of subject matter experts.
  • Focus the team on advancing capabilities and technologies that support our engineering teams.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and technical excellence.

Solutions Architecture

  • Define a solutions & digital architecture that enables the Product Development 'digital thread.
  • Ensure the architecture is consumable, understood, and aligned with the Global PD vision and strategies.
  • Collaborate with the Enterprise Architect community to integrate and refine architecture design.

Capability Exploration

  • Partner with the Global Capability Coordinator team to identify future-focused capabilities.
  • Assess and explore emerging technologies that drive engineering innovation.
  • Prioritize capabilities based on strategic value and feasibility.

Demand Team Expertise

  • Collaborate with demand teams to perform business analysis and develop business requirements documents.
  • Inform and guide the creation of requirements that align with the Global PD vision and strategy.
  • Maintain architectural integrity and consistency across demand team initiatives.

Development Enablement

  • Provide technical leadership to a development team executing Proof of Concept (PoC) and Proof of Value (PoV) exercises.
  • Leverage capability development, low-code platforms, and pro-code development to validate solutions.
  • Enable successful outcomes to scale broadly across the organization.

Knowledge Processes

  • Partner with the Digital Organization (IT team) to design and deliver resilient, scalable, and supportable digital products and services.
  • Actively participate in the Enterprise Architecture Community of Practice to align solutions with enterprise standards and best practices.
  • Establish governance processes to ensure seamless integration and ongoing support of solutions with enterprise IT infrastructure.

Who You Are (Basic Requirements)

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience leading solutions architecture teams in a general capacity.
  • Demonstrated success in business analysis, digital architecture, guiding Proof of Concept/Proof of Value initiatives, and creating development capabilities.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team-building capabilities with a focus on fostering collaboration and innovation across a cross-section of teams and stakeholders.
  • Expertise in defining and implementing digital architectures that support complex ecosystems such as engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, sales, customer service, or other domains.
  • Proficiency creating low-code/no-code and pro-code development environments.
  • Experience creating development capabilities regarding configuration and/or customization (as permitted) of commercial application platforms.
  • Effective communication & stakeholder management skills across technical & business teams.
  • Ability to travel domestically (predominantly Molex HQ in Lisle IL) or globally (10-25% travel)

What Puts You Ahead

  • 10+ years of experience leading solutions architecture teams, specifically supporting engineering technologies and capabilities, such as:
  • Application Lifecycle Management (ALM), Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), and Computer-Aided Design (CAD).
  • Engineering Data Management (EDM) or Product Data Management (PDM) systems.
  • Simulation and Analysis tools (e.g., Finite Element Analysis [FEA], Computational Fluid Dynamics [CFD]).
  • Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) integrations tied to engineering workflows.
  • Digital Twin technologies or Internet of Things (IoT) platforms supporting product design and lifecycle.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.

For this role, we anticipate paying $160,000 to $200,000 plus per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
