Position Purpose
This position will lead/supervise the Health Careers Mentors and assist in curriculum preparation and materials for the HCID program. This position involves working with high school students educating them about health career opportunities, college preparation, and important topics in the health care field. In addition, mentors will provide supervision, mentorship, and guide participants in career exploration and research along with logistical and organizational support. They will also organize and oversee recreational activities.
The Lead Mentor is expected to be available to begin work on May 19, 2025. While the camp session is July 7 - July 12, 2025, preparatory work can be completed remotely. The Lead Mentor is expected arrive on campus two weeks prior to camp start (06/23/25) and will depart one week after the camp ends (07/14/25). Dormitory accommodations, a meal card, and parking are provided during the 6-day session. The Lead Mentor will also be required to ensure the mentors and students comply with HCID code of conduct and Dartmouth's COVID policies (as applicable).
Required Qualifications

  • Leadership experience
  • One year of experience in a mentoring, teaching, or leadership role
  • Experience with youth programs (particulary, summer programs)
  • Bachelor's degree

Key Accountabilities


Key Accountabilities

  • Develops and presents sessions of curriculum (5%)
  • Mentors and supervises HCID mentors and participants (75%)
  • Provides curriculum development, logistical and organizational support (3%)
  • Works with participants to educate and inform in the various areas of career counseling, college preparation, and pre-health professions (10%)
  • Organizes recreational activities (5%)
  • Assists HCID staff in identifying future tracking of participants (2%)
