Position Summary:

The Community Engagement Manager is responsible for leading Clark College Foundation's initiatives to enhance Clark College's presence and impact within the community. This role focuses on developing and implementing strategies to build strategic partnerships, increase community awareness, foster volunteerism and collaboration, and manage sponsorship programs. The Community Engagement Manager will work closely with the External Relations team to support Clark College's mission and goals.

Key responsibilities include managing year-round community engagement activities, coordinating events that promote volunteerism and collaboration, and enhancing relationships with community partners. This role also involves analyzing engagement data to inform strategies, recognizing and thanking community partners, and maintaining strong relationships with local organizations and stakeholders. The Community Engagement Manager ensures that all engagement activities align with the college's objectives and contribute to its overall impact and sustainability.

This position requires a strategic thinker with excellent communication and organizational skills, capable of building and maintaining relationships with diverse stakeholders. The Community Engagement Manager will foster a culture of collaboration and support within the community. This position will also collaborate with the External Relations team to support alumni relations efforts.


Position Responsibilities

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Outreach and Engagement

  • Strengthen Clark College's influence by actively engaging with stakeholders, managing community partnerships, and exploring opportunities for community investment and strategic partnerships.
  • Plan, coordinate, and participate in effective community engagement activities, including events and workshops, to boost the College's visibility and ensure a strong community presence in the metro area.
  • Create, manage, and monitor annual work plans and budget for community engagement.
  • Design and implement volunteer recruitment and management plans to support engagement initiatives.
  • Develop new programs and initiatives to address community needs and enhance the College's role as a community resource.
  • Guide community engagement strategies and outreach efforts in partnership with communications and marketing staff to ensure consistent messaging and alignment with priorities.

Relationship Management and Stewardship

  • Lead and support comprehensive engagement to enhance relationships with corporate partners, including sponsorship, volunteerism, and collaboration.
  • Proactively identify and secure strategic sponsorships to support and elevate foundation events and activities.
  • Collaborate with foundation team members to ensure alignment in engaging corporate partners.
  • Document contact with stakeholders using Raiser's Edge and designated data systems.
  • Partner and engage with a variety of Clark College stakeholders, such as staff, faculty, students, alumni, industry partners, and community members.

Data Analytics and Reporting

  • Manage community engagement data, ensuring accuracy and quality for reporting, segmentation, and strategy development.
  • Track and analyze year-over-year statistics, volunteer metrics, and event performance to inform strategies.
  • Provide detailed reports and insights to AVP of External Relations and leadership team on community engagement trends and outcomes.

Alumni Relations

  • Support with coordination and execution of alumni-focused programming and events to encourage participation and engagement.
  • Collaborate with External Relations colleagues to implement alumni recognition programs, including awards and spotlight features.

Innovation and Best Practices

  • Stay informed on trends and best practices in community engagement, partnership development, corporate sponsorship, and volunteer management.
  • Make data-driven recommendations for process improvements and new strategies to enhance community engagement.

Additional duties assigned as needed.


Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred for this position.
  • Three (3+) years of experience in community engagement, alumni relations, partnership development, volunteer management, or other related field.

Preferred Qualifications and Competencies:

  • Excellent administrative, organizational, prioritization and time management skills.
  • Strong relational skills and ability to develop connections across various industries.
  • Effective communicator with strong written and verbal skills that is experienced in engaging with diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrates strong data management skills; excellent ability to enter, track, analyze and provide recommendations and learnings on data based on insight.
  • Experience working with Raiser's Edge, or another CRM (Customer Relations Management) platform.
  • Proficient in Asana or other task and project management software is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to make decisions within a shared decision-making environment and exercise sound judgment.
  • Adaptable to changing priorities.
  • Self-motivated leader that takes initiative.
  • Flexible and receptive to constructive feedback.
  • Continual growth mindset to develop and improve existing processes to enhance program efficiencies.
