General Function: Responsibilities include the review and approval of engineering drawings for manufacturability and to ensure adherence to Belvac drafting standards. Administration, development, application, and maintenance of manufacturing and assembly processes within the IFS ERP system. Coordination of engineering BOMs with the processes necessary to achieve reliable and efficient manufacturing and assembly. Serve as an interface between manufacturing and product engineering to assure cost-effective and reliable manufacturability of new and existing products. Design and drafting of custom materials and manufacturing process layouts. Responsible for continuous process improvement resulting in superior quality and cost savings objectives. Work as a team member with minimal daily supervision.

Primary Skills:

  • Familiarity with IFS software or other similar ERP system.
  • Manage and coordinating large engineering BOMs with the associated manufacturing process.
  • Setup and maintain process routing and material structures for assemblies and machined components.
  • Experience with 3D modeling and 2D drawing creation using Autodesk Inventor software or similar.
  • Experience with document management and revision control using Autodesk Vault software or similar.
  • Review and approve engineering drawings for manufacturability and adherence to company standards.
  • Possess strong Excel skills.
  • Design and/or drafting of fixtures/jigs for assembly or machining.
  • Create work instructions, layout documents, and process drawings.
  • Focus on safety throughout all operations.
  • Understand and use GD&T.

Additional Skills:

  • Lean 6 Sigma / 5S.
  • Experience in various machining processes.
  • Familiarity with mechanical assembly.
  • Familiarity with welding.
  • Metrology experience.
  • Understand and maintain inventory management system.
  • Ability to analyze and summarize data to find trends and performance rates.
  • Perform root cause analysis and recommend corrective actions and/or preventative measures.
  • Analyze and plan workflow, space requirements and shop floor equipment layout.
  • Analyze and track process improvement cost savings.

Education/Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in an assembly and/or manufacturing environment with a focus on technical drawings and BOMs.
