Position Overview

Position Summary:
Eastern New Mexico University is seeking doctoral-qualified applicants for a full-time Audiology faculty member beginning August 2025. This is a 9-month tenure-track residential position with Assistant professor rank with possible summer employment options. Academic rank, salary, and other duty eligibility will be commensurate with education and clinical experience.


Requirements

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Teach graduate and/or undergraduate courses in CDIS
  • Supervise undergraduate student clinicians enrolled in audiology practicum, and performing diagnostic audiology and aural rehabilitation services.
  • Service, research, and other scholarly activity expectations will be determined by academic rank.
  • The faculty member will be expected to assist with ASHA accreditation compliance as assigned
  • Participation in regular program, departmental, and university activities.
  • Clinical responsibilities will include comprehensive adult and pediatric audiological evaluations (tinnitus assessment and auditory processing evaluation experience a plus).
  • Administer and interpret the full range of audiological tests (immittance measures, otoacoustic measures, electrophysiological measures).
  • Aural rehabilitation services will include hearing assistance technology services, auditory training, and management of hearing sensitivity disorders.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Job Requirements:
The candidate should present: 1) CCC-A and/or Fellow of the American Academy of Audiology; 2) Earned doctorate (Au.D. a must and additional Ph.D. or Ed D a plus); 3) minimum two years clinical practice experience; 4) eligibility for NM licensure as an Audiologist.

  • Must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Must possess a commitment to excellence in teaching students of diverse backgrounds.
  • The ENMU Speech and Hearing Rehabilitation Outreach Center Audiology Clinic is open to the public. We offer conventional and highly specialized services for underserved populations. The ideal candidate for this position should be motivated, independent, and willing to work as part of a multidisciplinary team in a University Clinic Setting.
  • Should possess a strong foundation in diagnostic audiology and aural rehabilitation services.

Working Conditions

Physical Demand and Working Conditions:
Work is generally sedentary in nature. The job may require exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a consistent amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
