The Opportunity -
- The purpose of this opportunity is to coordinate team efforts towards meeting safety, quality, production, and cost goals.
Activities and Responsibilities -
- Manage the second shift team, providing direction and motivating employees to achieve production goals.
- Review shift production records to determine if performance targets are being met. Assigns daily tasks to align with achievement of performance targets. Makes recommendations for schedule and sequencing adjustments to ensure success of the shift's targeted production.
- Reduce and/or eliminate scrap levels on respective shift.
- Inspect finished products and goods to ensure quality, and that industry standards are met before they are declared ready for use. Resolves quality issues as appropriate.
- Works toward team initiatives and provides positive morale supporting efforts on respective shift.
- Assists in design of yearly performance objectives and implements and monitors programming to meet desired outcomes.
- Coordinates the Unit's scheduling and addresses attendance issues.
- Ensure your team has the necessary resources and tools to perform their tasks efficiently.
- Provides for safety and welfare of all employees, and monitors compliance of safety and housekeeping.
- Handle conflicts within the team promptly and fairly to maintain a positive work environment.
- Ensure that all operators are well-trained in the operation and maintenance of the production machinery and strive for continuous improvement activities.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement where employees are encouraged to suggest and implement cost-saving ideas.
- Ensures compliance to all plant rules and standards by leading by example.
Keep accurate records of production activities, attendance, and compliance, and create daily reports.
Requirements for the Unit Coordinator Role:
- Shift Flexibility: Must be willing to work 2nd shift.
- Age: Must be 18 years or older.
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Eligibility: Must be eligible to work in the United States.
- Skills: Computer literacy.
- Experience: 2-4 years supervision
