General Purpose: Perform day-to-day ordering of parts and supplies to support the operation and maintenance of all plant systems. Maintain purchase orders and major repairs. Ensure completion of orders and stocking all inventories including equipment parts, shop supplies, and other consumable supplies. Maintain accurate records of vendors and product shipments. Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review voucher requests and assist with payables, purchase orders, and invoices
- Maintain inventory items at predetermined levels to serve plant operations and administration, including safety, hygiene and good manufacturing practices (GMP) items
- Maintain organizational flow of stockroom, parts and supplies to aid in locating parts and eliminate ordering unnecessary supplies
- Coordinate and perform cycle counts on stockroom inventory
- Report results for monthly tracking
- Research equipment and supplies for non-stock item purchases.
- Evaluate vendors based on price and quality and maintains professional relationships with all suppliers
- Work with outside vendors and equipment suppliers to maintain updated part numbers, records of certificate of insurance, and safety rules and regulations
- Purchase non-inventoried items and maintain monthly records for corporate
- Communicate any issues or irregularities with Maintenance Manager and Plant Manager
- Dedicate effort to safety
- Follow all DFA good manufacturing practices (GMP) and work in a manner consistent with all corporate regulatory, food safety, quality and sanitation requirements
- Exhibit the values and ethics of Dairy Farmers of America through honesty, discretion and sound judgment
- Adhere to all DFA Quality, Safety and GMP policies and procedures and report any nonconformity
- Attend required training, including but not limited to Safety, GMP, Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) and Safe Quality Foods (SQF)

Minimum Requirements: Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- Associate's degree in business management preferred
- 2 or more years of purchasing work experience
- Certification and/or License - May be required to obtain and maintain other certifications and/or licenses for continued employment
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and company computer systems, specifically SAP
- Skill in proficient computer usage
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Able to adapt and manage change effectively
- Able to work with accuracy and attention to detail
- Able to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing
