Overview
Under the supervision of the Diagnostic Radiology Manager and/or Chief Technologist, and the direction of the staff technologist, performs all duties that support patient care. These duties include direct and indirect patient care activities, which are essential to providing comprehensive care to patients and their families. Following established procedures, completes routine interviews and patient screenings to obtain required patient data and demographic information that will assist the technologist in the assessment, planning, and evaluation of patient needs for the specific diagnostic imaging exam or procedure. 2. Determines and prepares the scan room with the correct set of supplies and equipment required for Qualifications EDUCATION: EXPERIENCE: SPECIAL SKILLS: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR or ability to successfully complete training within 6 months of hire, preferred. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with patient, families, peers, and supervisor. Ability to understand and follow specific written and verbal instructions and procedures. Basic mathskills. Beginner level computer skills to operate PC in a windows environment, with ability to learn and demonstrate competency in basic data entry/data retrieval in electronic patient records and/or patient supply systems utilized within unit. Ability to learn and demonstrate competency in basic patient screening and patient care procedures within specialty area, according to established protocols.
