Organizational Unit Overview |
Internal Medicine is a department within the Division of Health Sciences and Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. The Department of Internal Medicine is comprised of ten divisions with over 85 full time faculty and 150 support staff members. Each of the divisions has its own specialty clinic.
Internal Medicine is home to seven fellowships and two residency programs. In recent years collaboration and funding have come from many national recognized organizations such as the National Institutes of Health, Health Resources and Service Administration, American Heart Association, NC Department of Health and Human Services. More locally, we have partnered with
ECU Health Foundation, Kate B. Reynolds Charitable Trust, North Carolina Biotechnology Center, and the Pitt County Health Department. Additionally, Internal Medicine participates in many pharmaceutical sponsored clinical trails
We collaborate with Department of Pediatrics, the Department of Surgery, and the Department of Cardiovascular Sciences within the Brody School of Medicine. The Department of Internal Medicine has a close affiliation with
ECU Health and serves a broad population in eastern North Carolina. |
Job Duties |
This position supervises 4 clinics in 3 separate locations and supervises 14 employees. The employee in this position will use in-depth knowledge of all patient access services roles (front-desk, referral coordinator, phone hub, etc.) and
ECUP policies to perform the duties required.

ECU Brody School of Medicine is affiliated with
ECU Health Medical Center.
ECU Health Medical Center is the flagship hospital for
ECU Health and serves as the teaching hospital for the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University.
Employment in this position provides eligibility to participate in the
UNC Optional Retirement Program (
ORP) which offers matching employer contributions and employee control of investment choices, along with eligibility to participate in various Voluntary Supplemental Retirement Plans (401k, 403b, 457). This position is not eligible to participate in the NC Teachers' and State Employees' Retirement System (

Minimum Education/Experience |
Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related discipline; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. |
