Job Summary:

The Maintenance Manager reports to the Plant Manager and is responsible for the Safety of all maintenance team members and the efficient operation of all manufacturing equipment, buildings and grounds. The Maintenance Manager is responsible for executing capital projects on time and within budget and preserving the overall health of all assets within the facility. The Maintenance Manager is part of the plant Lead Team and is expected to be a strategic partner to the Plant Manager.

Required Education/Experience:


  • 5+ years of Industrial or Mechanical Maintenance experience.





  • 3+ years of Leadership experience.





  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent Engineering Degree preferred or combination of technical school and experience



Job Responsibilities:

  • General and Task Management

    • Assure maintenance work is being done safely and meeting quality standards while staying within budget and determined timelines.

      • Routine Maintenance: Includes PM plans and preservation activities such as lubrication, inspections, testing and PMD
      • CRI: Continuous Reliability Improvement thru predictive measures,
      • Emergency response: Immediate action to address breakdowns and other suddenly developed conditions.


    • Support/Sponsor planned work preparation and reduce unplanned downtime and improve machine operation.
    • Maintain the upkeep our our facilities and grounds.
    • Ensure we stay compliant with the state on water discharge.
    • Participate and facilitate problem solving sessions between operations, engineering and maintenance to eliminate repetitive failures.


  • People Management

    • Manage maintenance team to ensure they are working on the correct priority items in a safe and quality manner.
    • Manage, coach and develop a high performing maintenance team that meets agreed objectives, and who deliver best practice results with added value and continuous improvement.
    • Set department objectives/KPIs and review ongoing performance of direct reports.
    • Undertake continuous training and development of self and direct reports. Develop skills among the team and meet any needs to upgrade the knowledge of our maintenance organization.


  • Financial and Budget Control

    • Input and hold responsibility for maintenance budget.
    • Prepare the annual maintenance budget, forecast, and capital expenditure proposals as well as ensure compliance with legal standards.


  • Relationship Management

    • Work in partnership with Operation Managers by collaborating and engaging to deliver maximum compliance of the maintenance strategy and meeting overall needs of the plant.
    • Work as part of the management team to share ideas and improve operations by recommending and supporting continuous improvement in line with quality and safety standards.
    • Work closely with corporate Engineering group on process and plant improvements.
    • Work with Human Resouces to develop people strategy for the department and facilitate timeline for optimum execution of the development plan.
    • Provide a safe work environment for all in the department and enable personal growth.
