The Head of Regional Procurement will manage the regional procurement team, facilitating the fulfilment of procurement goals and adherence to regulations in partnership with stakeholders inside and outside the organisation.

Responsibilities



  • Oversee the Procurement function in North America, covering direct, construction, logistics and indirect, service spend and supplier quality
  • Identify and implement opportunities for suppliers and stakeholders in the region for both local and global supply, delivering more value to Vestas and include managing and developing the regional supply base and supplier relations
  • Manage regional initiatives to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost across the supply chain.
  • Facilitate the sales process by enhancing cooperation and maximising value between procurement and sales functions.
  • Manage full spend, identify cost-saving opportunities, and align with internal stakeholders for implementation.
  • Oversee project plans and business performance, conducting regular reviews with teams and leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement processes, ensuring compliant spend and collaboration with internal stakeholders.
  • Challenge the status quo and enhance collaboration with internal stakeholders to increase procurement impact and create more value for the company.
  • Act as a change agent, building capabilities through coaching, stakeholder engagement, and professional processes. Coach, mentor, and develop staff to deliver current and future business needs
  • Key contributor to the strategic goals of the matrixed organisation, collaborating with both the regional leadership team in the Americas and the global leadership team within Vestas Procurement.

Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree or Master's in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education.
  • 15+ years of demonstrated leadership experience in strategic procurement
  • Extensive experience in operating and leading within a regional/global matrix organisation, combined with business and financial acumen.
  • Effectiveness in enforcing process compliance, managing procurement spend, and reducing maverick spend by stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated project and program management skills, with the ability to develop, plan, and implement strategic short- and long-range goals.
  • Effective team leadership skills, creating a cooperative work environment, motivating and coaching employees, facilitating their development, and managing leaders with direct reports.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in analysis and problem-solving, including the ability to identify issues, evaluate options, and implement effective solutions to complex challenges.
  • Highly developed skills in written and oral communication, allowing for the precise and impactful sharing of thoughts
