Summary:
The External Affairs Coordinator provides essential support to the External Affairs functions at Pacific Seafood ensuring strong relations with our internal and external stakeholders through engagement and sharing our story. This role is ideal for an organized, detail-oriented professional who enjoys storytelling and working in a fast-paced, flexible environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Media Relations:
- Draft press releases, develop and ideate proactive media pitches, to drive media outreach efforts
- Serve as the primary contact for all media
- Support in crisis comms efforts
- Monitor and track media coverage, maintaining a contact database
2. Stakeholder Relations:
- Support the development of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Report by compiling content and gathering relevant data
- Support the development of internal and executive communications to align with company messaging
- Draft and send internal company announcements
- Draft customer communications
3. Community Engagement:
- Provide logistic support and coordinator for company-wide giving and volunteer effort
- Research and track opportunities for external awards and recognition for the company and individual team members
- Assist locations in developing and executing strategic community engagement efforts, ensuring visibility and impact
- Support the development of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Report by compiling content and gathering relevant data
What You Bring to Pacific Seafood:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or a related field.
- Understanding of thelegislative process.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft 365.
Preferred:
- Experience in media relations.
- Knowledge of AP Style.
- Familiarity with Airtable platforms.
- Familiarity with legislative writing and process.
