Pay Range

$41.93 - $51.33 Hourly

We have an opening for a Technical Coordinator to provide general technical support in Shop Stock within the Supply and Distribution Division (SDD). You will be responsible for performing moderately complexmaterial handling and technical duties related to the procurement, receipt and disposition of materials, parts, supplies, and equipment. This position will serve primarily in the Shop Stock however, duties may be performed in other areas of our organization such as Shipping, Receiving, Customer Support, or Industrial Gases, on an as needed basis. This position is in the Asset Management Department in the Business Directorate.

You will:

  • Schedule consultations with customers to established program needs for shop stock locations and inventory levels.
  • Coordinate shop stock installations and location updates with programs.
  • Perform Technical Release Representative (TRR) responsibilities including ordering, order confirmation, and creating files that meet strict audit requirements. Additionally, will accommodate customer needs and reconcile order discrepancies.
  • Perform Chemtrack tagging for chemical orders and Packaging and Transportation Safety (PATS) inspections for inbound drums and containers for Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) Stores inventory.
  • Process a variety of incoming material, which includes segregation of orders/items, data entry, material staging, delivering, restocking, and issuing inventories.
  • Interface with co-workers, program personnel, and external vendors to fulfill customer needs; all requiring a high level of customer service and attention to detail.
  • Perform various administrative duties including monitoring shop stock static catalogs, shop stock signature authority forms, exemption lists, and the maintenance of various excel spreadsheets for departmental metrics.
  • Remain knowledgeable of customer requirements to ensure procurements meet programmatic needs for specific materials (laboratory supplies, safety equipment, etc.).
  • Be responsible for providing accurate data entry that supplies Asset Management Department reports to track performance and enable decision making. Maintain accurate data entry within property management database, Sunflower, and procurement system, LINCS.

Qualifications
  • This position requires an active Department of Energy (DOE) Q-level clearance or active Top-Secret clearance issued by another U.S. government agency at the time of hire.
  • An Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with receiving, processing, storing, transporting, transferring and packaging-controlled materials.
  • Extensive practical knowledge of material handling operations, techniques and methods and regulatory requirements and/or related Department of Energy policies and procedures.
  • Experience providing excellent customer service and the ability to maintain effective working relationships with clients, co-workers, external vendors, and Laboratory service units.
  • Ability to work independently as well as function as a team player to accomplish the goals and objectives of the department.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with experience interacting tactfully and effectively with a diverse group of personalities and disciplines at various levels throughout the Laboratory.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) Certification within three months of hire, which requires a current CA Driver's License, StateDriver Record (current driver record from Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) at the time of hire, required annually thereafter), CMV training, CMV Road Test, and Department of Transportation (DOT) Medical Evaluation (separate/additional to pre-hire medical evaluation, required every 2 years thereafter).
  • Experience with personal computers, spreadsheet software, and word processing software necessary to maintain the storage, inventory, and accurate records of controlled materials.

Qualifications We Desire

  • Special Certifications: PATS, TRR, ChemTrack, Commercial Motor Vehicles (CMV) certification, Power Industrial Truck (PIT) Operator License.
