JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The nutritional physiology laboratory of Dr. Kevin Harvatine in the Department of Animal Science, The Pennsylvania State University, is seeking a Postdoctoral Scholar. The position will be involved in experiments investigating the effort of diet on rumen fermentation and milk fat composition and profile. Experience in dairy nutrition and physiology is required. Experience with fatty acid metabolism and fatty acid analysis, including isotope ratio mass spectrometry is required. Must be able to work independently and as a team. Written communication skills are important and must be able to effectively write scientific manuscripts.

Applicants are required to have a Ph.D. or equivalent doctorate in an appropriate field and be able to provide evidence that all requirements have been met for completion of the Ph.D. prior to the effective date of hire. Employment will require successful completion of background checks in accordance with University policies.
