Title: Warehouse Technician
Location: Roberta, GA
Salary: $24.85 - $27.00 per hour
Schedule: 5-8's
Focus: The Warehouse Technician is responsible for performing shipping and receiving duties, safely transporting material between the production facility and storage warehouses within mile of each other. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, a high level of initiative, and the ability to work independently.
Warehouse Technician Essential Job Functions:
- Safely load, secure, and unload materials onto or from pallets, racks, and shelves by hand or with lifting equipment, adhering to FIFO principles.
- Operate forklifts, stand-up reach lifts, shrink wrap and banding equipment and other warehouse machinery.
- Perform cycle counting duties and physical inventory counting as required.
- Use warehouse management software for all movements of products or raw materials.
- Record numbers, codes or other information. Read production schedules, work orders or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, staged, or distributed. Place labels, numbers, etc. on boxes, bags, cans, pails, drums, and totes of liquid and solid materials.
- Verify and inspect incoming materials and supplies for proper quantities and packaging defects.
- Sample chemical raw materials or chemical products; stage all required materials for production batches; organize and maintain raw materials stored in warehouse racks.
- Verify orders for receiving and assemble orders for shipment.
- Housekeeping duties include: clean drums, totes, and pails prior to shipment, as well as completing daily facility housekeeping.
- Quality control duties include: inspect drums for damage and cleanliness and check paperwork/labels for accuracy.
Warehouse Technician Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 1 year of full-time work experience
- Must possess or be able to obtain CDL-A with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements within 6 months from Hire Date
- Valid US driver's license required; current forklift certification preferred
- Must have strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work inside or outside in environmental conditions which at times include extreme heat or extreme cold
- Ability to lift 50 pounds floor to waist, push and pull 30 pounds horizontally, carry 20 pounds while walking, climb stairs, stand 8-12 hours per day, climb ladders, extend arms through normal range of motion while standing and squatting
- Ability to use computers and bar scanning equipment
- Ability to pass physical, drug screen and background check if offer is received and accepted
- Prior Olin experience in a relevant position strongly preferred
