Position: Electrical Design Engineer (Job code 91869)
Duties:
- Develop probe card design processes to take customer input and generate a netlist to assign PCB components and tester channels.
- Train new employees on these design processes.
- Responsible for probe card production design, applying product specifications and electrical circuit knowledge, internal design processes, design rules, and manufacturing processes knowledge.
- Utilize custom design tools to process the requirements for the
- Design team for high quality designs and fast design time.
- Work with customers face to face or over the phone to provide quick turn analysis and feedback results to the Sales and Design teams.
- Generate mechanical data and netlists with design rules such as timing and differential pairs/high speed, and component placement.
- Work with multiple teams (Sales, Marketing, PCB design, Substrate, and Mechanical) for design, training, and customer evaluations.
- Responsible for project management including design, scheduling, progress, and quality.
- Work with Design and Automation groups to define, develop, and improve design tools and the design process.
- Responsible for probe card design entry from customer technical specifications using schematic and/or spreadsheet-based formats.
- Manage multiple PCB design projects from start to finish.
Education Required:
Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
Experience Required:
5 years of progressive experience as PCB Designer, PCB Design Engineer, or related occupation
Special Requirements:
- Must have at least 1 year of prior work experience in each of the following:
- Working on design for signal integrity and routing rules using MS Excel and Allegro Constraint Manager.
- Performing PCB Layout using at least one of the following: PADS, Allegro, or AutoCAD.
- Working on digital and analog circuit design using Excel and PADS Logic.
- Using software driven DFM to maximize first pass yield manufacturing and reduce cost.
- Designing and manufacturing using the following techniques: Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Test (DFT).
- Working with 60+ multilayers PCB design of wafer probe cards involving analog, digital high speed, and mixed signals.
- Using Cadence Allegro with constraint driven design rules, differential pairs, and concurrent design with multiple users.
Position permits telecommuting: applicant may reside anywhere in U.S. and reports to Livermore, CA office.
Salary: $175,656 to $200,000 per year
