Could you be the full-time remote Trade Compliance Manager in Plattsburgh, NY, US we're looking for? (This role may be located 100% remote anywhere in the US)

Your future role

"Take on a new challenge and apply your interest in geopolitical complexity, and your strong background in international trade and strategic decision-making in a new cutting-edge field. You'll work alongside passionate, dynamic, and motivated teammates.

You'll create and manage strategic initiatives and support the regional network of Customs experts. Day-to-day, you'll work closely with teams across the business (Regional Supply Chain Team, project teams, and external suppliers), act as a country-level customs and compliance expert, manage the brokerage contracts, and support sourcing decisions from a customs lens, and much more."

We'll look to you for:




  • Contributing to supplier selection and total cost of ownership decisions for sourcing scenarios ,



  • Managing the increasingly complex network of tariffs, counter-vailing duties, and retaliatory actions ,



  • Acting as an expert within project teams on customs regimes and manufacturing footprint optimization ,



  • Facilitating communication towards internal and external stakeholders ,



  • Ensuring that the company and its senior management team stay updated on any new customs requirements or initiatives that could affect our business and our customers ,



  • Managing Global Free Trade Agreements ,



  • Leading and implementing a best-in-class Compliance and Consulting strategy focused on building, managing, and growing long-term partnerships with our clients ,



  • Supporting sourcing decisions from a customs lens to optimize efficiency and compliance ,



  • Managing brokerage contracts to ensure seamless customs operations.",



  • Driving consistency in process, systems, and data across Alstom sites

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Legal, Supply Chain, or related field. ,



  • 10 years of experience in international business/trade and customs regimes. ,



  • Strong level of knowledge of export EAR (Export Administration Regulations). ,



  • Familiarity with customs brokerage and regulations. ,



  • Ability to present comfortably to groups of varying sizes and levels within the organization, as well as to external suppliers and attorneys. ,



  • High-level technical competence related to Free Trade Agreements. ,



  • ERP background and purchasing/Supply Chain experience. ,



  • Experience in developing compliance programs and processes. ,



  • Knowledge of tariffs and their implications. ,



  • Understanding of manufacturing footprint optimization.
