Position Summary

The University of New Mexico invites applications as it seeks a dynamic career individual for the position of Career Development Facilitator for Career Services. UNM Career Services supports the mission, academic programs, and advancement of the University of New Mexico.

Under general supervision, the Career Development Facilitator assists students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members in developing, evaluating, and/or implementing career/employment plans and decisions with special emphasis on assisting students, faculty and employers to connect. This position will coach and prepare individuals with all aspects of the career development process, specifically but not limited to: choosing a major, internship and job search skills, resume, cover letter, personal statement development, utilize available technology to design and deliver career related presentations, and career tool development. Position may provide office hours to assigned college areas to advise students.

Conditions of Employment
  • Must attain Global Career Development Facilitation (GCDF) Certificate through the Center for Credentialing and Education within six months of hire into this position.


Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree; at least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.



Preferred Qualifications

- Completed
or pursuing a Masters' degree in Counseling
- Experience
with conducting presentations and presentation software
- Proven
experience utilizing online career database (such as Symplicity or
Handshake)
- Familiarity
with formal and informal career assessments
