POSITION SUMMARY: KERA is seeking a full-time Audience Development (AD) Producer to join our innovative team. The Producer will assist teams across the entire AD department in various capacities as needed. Working alongside the Marketing, Creative Services, Events, and Digital Product teams, the AD Producer will be involved in audience-facing strategies for production, promotion, delivery and analysis across media platforms; and be innovative and willing to experiment.
This is a multi-faceted position that is perfect for digital natives with expertise in a range of digital media production and distribution methodologies. The role and team welcomes creativity and strives to create opportunities for growth and professional development.
This position is classified as FLSA exempt, is not eligible for overtime and reports to Senior Director, Audience Development.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Grow, engage and diversify KERA’s audience on all platforms through a variety of methods, using data to hone and tune efforts in real-time.
- Create promotional campaigns for KERA News and KERA TV (and KXT and WRR, as needed), targeted at growing broadcast and digital audiences for each station.
- Develop and execute social media and email marketing strategies for KERA News and KERA TV (and KXT and WRR, as needed)
- Help teams across KERA identify, understand and reach target audience segments that align with the organization's strategic plan.
- Develop and produce branding and imaging of on-air personalities, programs, series, products, events and other initiatives.
- Guide content teams in efforts to connect with target audience demographics, using data, research and experimentation.
- Provide production assistance to the creative services and on-demand audio teams and execute distribution strategies for audio and video.
- Help align editorial and content recommendations to strategic audience priorities, pillar narratives, brand guidelines and overall creative direction.
- Assist in the development of audience-first strategies for the launch and promotion of projects, products and other initiatives across all owned platforms.
- Help determine paid media strategies based on the content or product developed and target audience defined.
- Collaborate with graphic designers in the creation of creative digital assets optimized for social media platforms.
- Coordinate with fundraising and membership teams to identify opportunities for audience growth and monetization.
- Curate, create and edit email newsletters and announcements for non-fundraising communications.
- Assist in creation of marketing materials, including copy development, direction, design, production and distribution of materials (print and digital).

- Enthusiasm for audience development and engagement
- Enthusiasm for collaboration and working well with others
- Ability to absorb and incorporate feedback from stakeholders across the organization, all while keeping our audiences centered in decisions and designs
- Experience with ESPs (email services providers), CRMs (customer relationship management), CMSs (content management systems) and other standard technology platforms, like Microsoft 365.
- Experience in design for print, layout, digital advertising, basic graphic design or similar.
- Basic audio and video editing experience
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and efficiency
- Excellent time management skills
BONUS IF YOU BRING:
- Experience with Adobe Design Suite, Adobe Audition or similar, Adobe Premiere or similar
- Passion for public media
- Intern or work experience in marketing, advertising, media or nonprofit environment.
SALARY RANGE
$59,000-$69,000 depending on experience

LOCATION:
We expect that this position will work out of our Dallas office at least 50%of the time.
