Position Summary

The PC Support Internis responsible forproviding high level hardware and software support to include installations, troubleshooting, andmaintainingcorporate computer systems and peripherals. Fields incoming help desk requests from internal employees and provides hands-on technicalassistanceand training. Maintainsan accurateinventory of alldesktop, laptop, and computer peripherals.Demonstrates a commitment and supports a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion.


Position Responsibilities / Essential Job Functions

  • Supports,maintainsand repairs all personal computers (PCs), laptops and peripherals for the Authority.

  • Maintainaccurateinventory on all computer equipment.

  • Updates andmaintainscomputer software.

  • Deployment of new computer hardware and software

  • Manages computer images, configurations, software, and other various system settings for PC's, laptops, and tablets.

  • Researches,testsand advises on new products for computers, mobiledevicesand peripherals.

  • Opening,trackingand closing technical service requests with outside vendors on hardware and software issues.

  • Responds to client inquiries concerning system hardware and software issues.

  • Performs help desk tasks andassistusers in the proper use of equipment, software, and manuals as needed.

  • Performs other duties as assigned orrequired.


Essential Skills and Experience

EssentialCompetencies:

  • Knowledge of the methods, procedures, and techniques of computer support to perform the full range of duties within the field; computer software and hardware operations and equipment (peripherals); principles and practices of computer hardware and software de-bugging and other troubleshooting procedures; English usage, spelling and grammar.

  • Ability to operate a variety of computer hardware and software including, but not limited to, desktops, laptops, Mobile Data Computers (MDCs), printers, print servers, Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office Suite; install computer hardware and software; diagnose technical problems and determine appropriate action; prioritize and organize work and provide excellent customer service; effectively manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines; excel both independently and as a team member in a lively, collaborative environment.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; communicate with clients in non-technical terms; follow oral and written instructions.

Minimum Education and Work Experience:

Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at an accredited college or university with a major inComputer Scienceor related field. If enrolled in an undergraduate program,mustbe asophomore,junior or senior upon employment.

Required Licenses/Certifications and otherSpecial Requirements:

Students must have andmaintaina minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
