Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Human Resources Intern.

JOB DETAILS

Location: Hybrid, within commuting distance to Huntsville, AL or Washington, D.C. preferred, remote considered

Job Type: Full-time, non-exempt

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Functionally, the candidate will be responsible for:

  • Learn HRIS and ATS Systems: Gain proficiency in Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) and Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) to effectively manage employee data and recruitment processes.
  • Provide Email and Phone Support: Assist in responding to email and phone inquiries from employees regarding HR-related matters, providing timely and accurate information and support.
  • Process I9 and e-Verify: Ensure compliance with employment eligibility verification requirements by accurately processing I9 forms and conducting e-Verify checks for all new hires.
  • HR Filing: Assist in organizing and maintaining HR documents and records, ensuring they are stored accurately and confidentially.
  • Data Monitoring and Analysis: Monitor and track data within HRIS and ATS systems and spreadsheets, conduct data comparisons to ensure accuracy, and generate reports as needed for analysis and decision-making.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with employees at all levels.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills and the ability to demonstrate initiative while managing multiple tasks efficiently and accurately.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Prior experience with HRIS or ATS systems is a plus but optional.
  • Flexibility to adapt to a dynamic work environment and willingness to learn new skills.
  • Must be able to commit to a minimum of 30 hours per week for internship period
