Mission Assurance Specialty Engineer - US Space Systems Command
Location: Lompoc, CA

Astrion is seeking a Mission Assurance Specialty Engineer (MASE) to join our team, supporting the US Space Systems Command. This is a key role to ensure the launch verification process is effectively managed from vehicle arrival through launch.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the Launch Verification Database (LVDB) technical updates, including loading and managing the Launch Verification Matrix (LVM).

  • Work with JIRA/Confluence to build tracking systems; experience with VBA, Power Platform, and Python is a plus.

  • Manage data systems for receiving and archiving flight hardware processing procedures, technical risk assessments, mission data, and other related documents.

  • Conduct mission assurance duties and technical risk assessments in line with NSSL processes and ensure consistency with flight readiness reviews.

  • Provide recommendations to government personnel for process improvements, integration with external organizations, and resolution of technical issues.

  • Monitor configuration changes in Space Launch Complexes and recommend adjustments to maintain alignment with certification baselines.

  • Train engineers and technicians on LVDB use and mission assurance processes.

Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering or a related STEM field.

  • Experience: 10+ years in systems engineering, technical project management, or related areas; 5+ years of NSSL, Launch/Range, DoD, or NASA experience.

  • Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
