Overview

LMI seeks a Fleet Management/Vehicle Maintenance Quality Assurance Specialist to support a U.S. Border Patrol Mission Support Directorate at their Federal Prisons Industries (UNICORP) location in Bastrop, Texas. This position has a requirement to be on site at the Bastrop Federal Correctional Institute location for four days a week, with telework one day a week. Occasional travel is required.

Responsibilities

    Serves as the U.S. Border Patrol (USBP) on-site liaison to CBP Mobile Asset Management Office (MAPMO).
  • Represents USBP interests at MAPMO and UNICOR production meetings.
  • Provides on-site logistics and maintenance quality assurance support. Logistics and maintenance QA support may include, but not limited to:
    • Ensures that installed communications equipment in vehicles are fully functional and transmitting data.
    • Validates each vehicle maintenance characteristics are within allowable limits.
    • Performs weekly vehicle shipping status updates for production reporting
    • Participates in annual USBP vehicle maintenance and upfit catalog reviews to ensure accuracy and validate configuration requirements.
    • Supports development of vehicle upfitting technical specifications and quality assurance requirements in consultation with Government and business partners.
    • Ensures that quality provisions are planned and implemented for the installation of emergency response equipment on USBP law enforcement vehicles.
  • Analyzes, evaluates, and presents vehicle production data and quality assurance processes to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
  • Identifies, reports, and provides corrective action suggestions on unsatisfactory conditions or factors to mitigate errors or failures in assembled upfits or defective workmanship.
  • Conducts random and periodic quality assurance inspections, recorded audits, and efficiency reviews to ensure work being done conforms to the requirements of the contract, IAAIAA other contractual guidance.
  • Provides weekly updates to all pertinent reports and databases via log-in to CBPNet; access to be provided by PPMD.
  • Assists with the assignment of Fleet Numbers and GSA License Plates to all USBP upfitted vehicles to eliminate erroneous assignments of same.
  • Occasional driving and use of a government vehicle may be required.


Qualifications

  • Ability to pass government background investigations, including financial, criminal, residential, educational, foreign affiliation, prohibited substance abuse, and employment verifications; active U.S. Customs and Border Protection background investigation preferred. Please note that only U.S. citizens are eligible for a suitability determination.

  • Combined 7+ years of experience in a Quality Assurance discipline, vehicle maintenance, vehicle fleet management processes, or specialized knowledge of vehicle equipment upfitting.

  • Working knowledge of or experience operating USBP or other law enforcement vehicles and bachelor's degree preferred.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.

  • Ability to communicate clearly with a variety of stakeholders.

  • Ability to effectively solve problems.

  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.

  • A collaborative team member who maintains a professional attitude in a dynamic environment.

Targeted Salary Range: $82,000 - $140,000
