Position Summary
The services manager is responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of pharmacy services, including but not limited to purchasing, repair, and maintenance of pharmacy equipment; asset management, risk assessments, OSHA/NIOSH compliance, and customer Service support via MyService. The Services Manager will provide leadership and support the department coordinators supporting the services team. The services manager will work alongside stakeholders in ensuring pharmacy locations are built, maintained, and updated according to industry standards, while also maintaining up-to-date on USP 797 & 800 guidelines. The Pharmacy Services manager will also have a working knowledge of the operational aspects of the clinic pharmacies and will contribute to the overall objectives of Pharmacy Operations department, including with quality and safety initiatives. This role will serve as the primary contact (during and after working hours) in the event of failures of key assets and processes: Biological Safety Cabinets, Pharmacy Refrigerators, as well as Environmental Sampling.
Key Performance Areas
KPA 1 - Purchasing, Maintenance and Repairs of Pharmacy Equipment
Work alongside regional leadership and procurement in the purchasing of Biological Safety Cabinet. Assess business needs and compounding volumes to determine appropriate hood sizes for purchase Assess current hood performance utilizing reports from services and track number of services for each hood per year. Will issue recommendations based on trending for new equipment and communicate pricing to regional directors during annual budgeting Oversee biannual inspection of hoods and process all repair recommendations issued by certifying vendor Liaise with procurement in the purchasing of supplies needed for repairs Coordinate with the manufacturer to ensure all installations are completed in a timely manner Maintain all purchase records for pharmacy equipment (i.e., repeater pumps, hoods, refrigerators, etc.) and warranty repairs Will be the primary contact for emergent issues regarding equipment functionality
KPA 2 -HD Formularies and Risk management
The incumbent will work with department leadership and report to the director of pharmacy operations on all safe handling areas, including but not limited to: Hood Downtime Procedures, Risk Assessments of drug handling during downtime events, Updating and communication of Hazardous Drugs lists and formularies Provide leadership and support on all drug excursion events and mechanical failures. Work with the department and regional leadership and vendors to get assets back into functional conditions. Partner with regional leaders and procurement in ensuring pharmaceutical items are adequately accounted for during natural disasters, and proper measures are taken to recover any loss.
KPA 3 - Maintenance of Pharmacy Facilities
Demonstrate a thorough understanding of types and uses of primary and secondary engineering controls, Features of secondary engineering controls (SECs; e.g., air pressure differentials, HEPA filtration, ISO classification, air changes per hour [ACPH]), Temperature, pressure, and humidity parameters and/or tolerances for facilities and controlled environments Provide support to construction management during clinic buildouts to ensure that pharmacy rooms and equipment are ordered, built, installed according to industry standards and pass all applicable performance tests Conduct regular assessments of pharmacy locations to ensure continuous, uninterrupted performance
KPA 4 - Professional Communication and Engagement
Promptly, diplomatically, and professionally address all issues involving the operability of pharmacy equipment and rooms. Keep Clinic, Regional, and senior leadership promptly updated on pharmacy facility matters affecting the continuity of patient care. Develops working relationships with vendors and ensures that critical matters are addressed in the utmost urgent manner Establishes processes and procedures to help improve the efficiency and efficacy of pharmacy Services management. Participate in the fiscal goals of the company, especially those affecting capital expenses and pharmacy.
Position Qualifications/Requirements
Education College degree (AS, AA or Higher) in Business/Health Care Administration, required. In lieu of a degree, 4+ years of experience is required or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous Experience
Minimum of 5 years in a pharmacy/clinical setting where sterile and hazardous drugs are handled. A minimum of 3 years of Pharmacy and Compliance Management is required. Experience in Pharmacy Regulations (USP 797, 800), including pharmacy build and construction, required.

Computer Skills

Certifications/Licenses
Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT), Required. Compounded Sterile Preparation Technician (CPST), Required. Valid state Driver's License for travel to satellite offices and offsite meetings. Compliance with the company Driver Safety Operations and Motor Vehicle Records Check Policy is required.
