What We Need

The Provider Central Delivery team is responsible for delivering and maintaining a portal solution that helps providers understand how to work with BCBSMA and ensure that they have the proper collateral and / or path to the tools they need to support their practices. The portal is a personalized experience for our registered providers and their office and billing staff to source this information. The Portal (a.k.a.: Provider Central) must be responsive to supporting mandate changes, implementing business needs and prioritizing security concerns. The Lead Technical Product Owner will lead all technical aspects of supporting the Portal.

Your Day to Day

  • Subject matter expert and main business contact for all aspects of Provider Central
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to ideate on complex solutions / products to business problems or enabling strategic priorities.
  • Support research to answer questions about Portal functionality
  • Develop feature roadmaps for Provider Central in support of strategic initiatives; able to predict feature delivery dates based on team capacity in partnership with Project Management
  • Responsible for continuous prioritization of value stream epics and ensuring decomposition of them into features with well-defined acceptance criteria
  • Create communications and continually updates value stream roadmaps with epic & feature delivery plans
  • Collaborates with team to develop user stories (requirements) that are clearly documented with appropriate acceptance criteria
  • Defines associated business value outcome metrics and develop leading and lagging indicators
  • Provides support for ongoing funding requests delivery of feature objectives and KPI's
  • Manage feature dependencies and defines feature delivery plans to support dependencies while still delivering frequently according to initiative roadmaps
  • Understands and communicates impacts of features to overall timelines & development
  • Mentors product owners on advanced user story backlog prioritization techniques and associated artifacts
  • Supports development teams in understanding user story grooming & elaboration
  • Thinks Minimum Viable Product, coupled with continuous improvement

We're Looking for:

  • Broad technical breadth and depth including familiarity with Portal support and development
  • Robust understanding of the complexities of databases to support an applicaiton
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations, and drive actions
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and discuss technical and business concepts, manage tradeoffs, and evaluate opportunistic new ideas with internal and external partners
  • High attention to detail including precise and effective stakeholder communication, and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated experience engaging and influencing senior executives
  • Ability to think strategically and execute methodically
  • History of teamwork and willingness to roll up one's sleeves to get the job done

What You Bring:

  • 8-10 years as a product owner; product owner certification is a plus
  • BA/BS in computer science/technology or business, or equivalent work experience
  • Healthcare experience preferred
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies, including the use of Confluence & Jira
  • Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product
  • Experience defining and executing against both short and long-term roadmap strategies
  • Experience leading and influencing (without direct oversight) cross-functional teams, including 3rd parties, to deliver products and programs
  • Experience coordinating requirements across customer or stakeholder groups

LocationBoston Time TypeFull time Salary Range: $135,180.00 - $165,220.00

The job posting range is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee's pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs and affordability.

This job is also eligible for variable pay.
